The Officer's Sabre is the highest grade melee weapon found in Apocalypse Rising.
History[]
Sabre-like curved backswords have been in use in Europe since the medieval period (falchion, Byzantinian paramērion which was inspired by the Avar Cavalry sword), but the introduction of the sabre proper in Western Europe, along with the term sabre iself, dates to the 17th century, via influence of the Eastern European szabla type. The weapon gained widespread use in the early 19th century, inspired by the Mameluke sword, a type of Middle Eastern scimitar.
Appearance[]
The Sabre has a long blade, and a golden hand guard, covering the knuckles of the hand. The handle seems to have some kind of silk on it. Unlike most sabres, the sabre in Apocalypse Rising doesn't have a curved blade.
Performance and Recommended Use[]
The Sabre is, based on stats, the best melee weapon of the game. It deals the same damage as the [[hatchet]], but swings twice as fast. The only weapon that has a stat better than the sabre is the Combat Knife, which swings faster, but has much less damage. Taking these factions into consideration, the sabre is a great weapon for both player and zombie killing.
